I remember a time of chaos. Ruined dreams. This wasted land
If you adopt a post-apocalyptic mindset, maybe things here aren't that bad after all. It's all very Mad Max II - plucky survivors sending out hopeful messages over the ether "is anybody there?" "can you hear me???". Whether there's enough of us left to rebuild society, I just don't know. To be continued.....

Rise of the idiots
Have I missed something? Is there a national fuckwit shortage. Have Justin Lee Collins, Vernon Kay AND Jimmy Carr simultaneously come to the crushing realisation that they have all the entertainment appeal of tapeworm; and disembowelled themselves with soup spoons??? I can fathom no other explanation for the appearance on my television of a long streak of inanity going by the name of Russell Brand. As Channel 4 is vying with Men & Motors to be the destination of choice for drooling mouth-breeders, I suppose it's no surprise to see a half-wit like Brand. But, what I find inexplicable is his appearance in grown-up media: the Guardian has given him a column; he presents on 6 Music.

We few....
....we happy few, we band of brothers. For he today that spills his larger with me, shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile. And gentlemen in offices now a-desk, shall hold their manhood's cheap while any speaks, that drank with us upon Saint Wayne's day! Last Saturday's experience, left me quite taken with the simple pleasures of the common man. So I skipped off early to a public house to watch the match today. Standing shoulder to shoulder with the stout yeoman stock of Engerrrrland; guts straining against the taut polyester of their football shirts; faces flushed with equal measures of national pride, and cheap Stella; mumbling falteringly through the 2nd verse of the National Anthem. All very invigorating. I may return next week. Now where does one purchase a plastic stormtroopers helmet, and a giant foam finger........

So, we go though a major upheaval; lose all our favourites; have to learn HTML in order to make entries. But, it was worth it to get rid of all that spam and porn......................... My, what a lot of new entries I've got in my guestbook today

I'll get me coat
I'm leaving BigCo tomorrow. I'm going to join Shop-u-Like, another High St brand; probably more widely known than BigCo, but with a surprisingly small turnover. I'll be swapping monthly targets in the £bn's for mere £m's. It's a little more down-market than where BigCo is now, but BigCo's Board seem to be speeding the company in that direction anyway. Have stipulated no leaving presentation. The hypocrisy always makes me gag - "we really appreciate all the work Jack's done" - no you didn't, that's why I'm leaving! So all things being well I'll be propping up the bar by tomorrow lunchtime getting ready for the football.
